We’re back with another update from the Fate team, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting progress from our latest sprint!
First up, we’ve made significant strides in integrating base64 images onto the Fate blockchain. Initially, this capability was absent from our NFT module, but through dedicated effort, we’ve successfully incorporated base64 images into the NFT minting process. Now, when you mint an NFT, it not only includes game-related metadata but also the associated base64 image, enhancing the richness of our gaming experience.
Next, we’ve perfected the process of retrieving and compiling these NFTs directly in-game. During our recent demo, players were able to mint an NFT for a short sword and see the image stored in base64 format, securely stored on the Fate blockchain.
The most exciting development is our ability to dynamically insert these NFTs into the game’s memory. By seamlessly integrating NFT images and metadata into the game’s database, our players can interact with these digital assets just like any other in-game item. In our demo, players were even able to equip the newly minted weapon to their characters.
This means the attributes of the item such as it’s cost, item type, weapon type, and in-game stats are immutably stored on the blockchain. As you can see in this screen shot the item name, the image, the item description and it’s damage bonus are all derived from the NFT which was minted on the Faet Blockchain!
As we gear up for the testnet launch, which is just one sprint away, our team remains dedicated to ensuring the platform is thoroughly optimized for the next phase of development.
